In our second Payments Forum of 2022 we focus on the significant M&A and investment activity occurring in the sector involving Payments and FinTech businesses.

For this session we are delighted to be joined by guest speakers Greg Smith, Managing Director, and Max Bernard, Director, at Financial Technology Partners (FT Partners). Greg and Max will provide their insight and experience of the current market in Europe and the US. FT Partners are the only investment banking firm focused exclusively on the financial technology sector.

The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the expansion of the Payments sector and, in particular, demand for online services. Alongside that there was brisk deal activity including M&A transactions driving consolidation within the industry and investment by new players in the market. Our June 2022 Payments Forum will focus on:

• the current state of play in relation to the global payments M&A market; and
• the legal and regulatory considerations relevant to those M&A and investment transactions.

Michaël Heene and Chris Arnold along with members of DLA Piper’s Payments team will join Greg and Max to provide opinions on the key legal aspects that you should be aware of when you venture into M&A in the sector.
