Carbon markets are an important tool for financing activities that mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. The voluntary carbon market has seen a flurry of activity in the last couple of years due to private sector climate action pledges. In November 2021 initial guidance on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement was agreed in Glasgow, which envisages three mechanisms, two of which are market based.
Nevertheless, there are still several uncertainties around the emerging mechanism under Article 6 and the interplay with the voluntary carbon market.
To explore some of the challenges and opportunities faced by carbon market participants we have invited a set of diverse stakeholders to share some of their practical experience.
As COP27 approaches, we are delighted to invite you to a hybrid event, where we will hear from leading carbon market participants on the important blocks needed to accelerate the scale-up of investment in carbon reduction projects.
