A data protection update: Understanding the interplay between the EU's GDPR and SA's POPIA

DLA Piper South Africa will be hosting a client seminar, on Monday 12 November 2018, on the interaction between the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union and South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act 2013 (POPIA).

We invite all multinational organizations with a presence in South Africa and the European Union, and any organizations who process the personal data of data subjects located in South Africa and the European Union, to attend this seminar. The seminar will be led by Florence Guthfreund-Roland, our European data protection and telecommunications specialist who has extensive experience working in several African jurisdictions.

Monique Jefferson and Savanna Stephens, from DLA Piper South Africa's data protection team, will be presenting on POPIA and the changes and challenges it brings to the local legal landscape.
