Networking events
To help our in-house counsel clients network with each other we organise keynote events throughout the year. By becoming a member of our WIN community you can also network with your peers online and share information in our discussion forum.
Are you an in-house lawyer in the UK? The WIN team are busy preparing a national calendar of events, which will be published in early February 2013. To ensure you are kept up-to-date, please ensure you are registered for the programme.
Upcoming events
Join us for an interactive and exciting look at technology - current and future - and how this is changing the marketplace and impacting on the in-house legal department. Our speakers will run 3 individual sessions, followed by and Q&A panel for audience interaction. Speakers include: Kit Burden (Global co-head of the Technology Sector, DLA Piper), Patrick Rowe (Managing Director - UK and Ireland Legal Group, Accenture) and Prini Pithouse (Head of Legal - Group Operations, Lloyds Banking Group).
This event will include a review of the decisions of the courts in the last 12-18 months in areas of key commercial practice, to include developments in interpretation and implied terms, exemption clauses, pre-contractual misrepresentation, agreements to negotiate, termination for breach, damages, and remoteness. This event is part of our broader WIN programme and will focus on practical information specifically relevant to in-house lawyers that you can take back to your desk.

The session looks at communication styles, and how your unique personality type impacts in how effectively you communicate with others. We will require attendees to fill in a very brief personality profiling exercise (5 mins to complete) to identify your personality type. Attendees will be scored, and split into groups for interactive exercises at the event based on common scenarios or challenges faced by in-house teams. This session is based on feedback we've received at previous events and aims to support in-house lawyers to better manage stakeholders, support their teams, and "manage up".
